How to treat for Hydraulic Cylinder Failures


Hydraulic Cylinder is widely used in various mechanical hydraulic systems. Hydraulic cylinders are basically composed of cylinder barrels and cylinder heads, pistons and piston rods, sealing devices, buffering devices, and exhaust devices. It is common for equipment to shut down due to hydraulic cylinder failures. Therefore, attention should be paid to the fault diagnosis and maintenance of hydraulic cylinders. Below are several common solutions to hydraulic cylinder failures.

Handling method:

1. Ignoring the rebound of the sealing ring in the tensioned position, in order to ensure the sealing performance of the hydraulic cylinder, the sealing ring on the piston of the hydraulic cylinder can be compressed. The harder the material of the sealing ring, the stronger its anti extrusion ability. In order to simplify the model, the rebound amount of the sealing ring during strain was ignored.

2. Ignoring the effect of radial force on the piston, it is assumed that the inner wall of the hydraulic cylinder is in complete contact with the sealing ring, and the influence of the eccentric annular gap between the hydraulic cylinder and the piston on the flow rate is not considered.

3. Ignoring the influence of the relative motion between the piston and cylinder on the shear force generated by the flow rate, as the contact area between the piston and strain is very small, the influence of the relative motion between the piston and cylinder on the shear force generated by the fluid is not considered.

4. If the support ring on the piston of the oil cylinder is damaged, causing direct contact between the piston and the cylinder barrel, or if there are hard impurity particles embedded between the piston and the cylinder barrel inside the oil cylinder, causing damage from small to large and causing severe cylinder fault, the piston and cylinder barrel need to be replaced, and only the intact piston rod needs to be retained. If it is only a slight strain and does not damage the working surface of the piston, the piston can still be used. Excavator cylinders are generally produced in batches and have strong replaceability, allowing for direct replacement with a new cylinder.
